DIY synchronicity take home technology doggy bag yum!

After you’ve experienced the films of Synchronicity Part Zwei, imagine the Drop Bass Network as a huge, cranky uncle of fun grumbling, “you don’t need a lot of equipment to have fun with synchronicity, you just need your imagination!” All you need is your audio player, video player, and a television (or computer). You can, of course, play any one of the movie/album synchronicities found on The Synchronicity Arkive at www.synchronicityarkive.com, but you can get much more creative than that.

Create your own synchronicity music video. This is simple, and you’re probably familiar with it. Turn your television’s sound off, crank up your audio player, and ask yourself, “what video would best groove with what audio?“ Here are some favorites: Tom and Jerry on the Cartoon Network to drum and bass like Bad Company and Andy C. Video games of mass destruction like Halo and Quake to hardcore gabber like Delta 9 and Disciples of Annihilation. Experiment!

Install a “visualizer” into your computer’s audio player. These visualizers are free downloads, and well worth the easy installation. G-Force and Whitecap are at www.55ware.com. (G-Force is the bomb!) Arkaos is at www.arkaos.net. Just open your audio player, click on the “visuals” menu, pull down to “turn visuals on,” and you be synchin’!

These are just a few suggestions, but the real fun is to come up with your own synchronicities. Employ your Google image search engines, your random MP3 play lists, and your imagination, then go nutz!
